| Do you have a few hours a week to spare and great office organizational skills to use or develop? You may be the volunteer we are looking for! Objectives: To assist the Computer CORE staff with administrative duties associated with CORE’s mission of helping low-income adults acquire the technological and life skills they need to pursue career aspirations. Benefits: Have a direct impact on the functioning of Computer C.O.R.E. by assisting with various administrative projects; remain current or expand upon computer and office technology skills; build resume by demonstrating administrative experience through volunteering. Responsibilities: Commit to a recurring work time of at least three hours per week on one or more days (Monday throughThursday). Preferably daytime, but early evening would also work. Work tasks include such tasks as data entry, mail merges, typing correspondence, updating web and printed materials, processing student applications, photocopying, collating, answering the phone, preparing mailings and thank you letters. Training is available for tasks that are unfamiliar. Commitment: 1 training cycle-5 months, 3 hours per week. Timing flexible. Qualifications: Basic computing skills in Word, Excel and internet; willingness to field incoming calls, often from English-learners (ESL); willingness to learn how to use Computer C.O.R.E.’s internal communication website (orientation will be given).
